Vancouver artists celebrate Chinese New Year

Artists, who have been involved with such groups and TV shows like Cirque du Soleil, "The Voice" China, and Canadian Idol, are flying in from all over the world to Vancouver to gather on QUeen Elizabeth Stage for this year's "Spring Show" gala.
The event celebrating Chinese New Year takes place on February 9 2013.
The show brings together two of the most renowned choreographers in the Asian and North American dance scene, Aimin Teng and Joel Hanna, to work with Cherry Tao, the show's Director, as the Assistant Directors.
Aimin Teng's inspiring contemporary style drew international attention after he choreographed the 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremony, leading him to be the Director of the " Big Dance" four years later at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Joel Hanna is globally renowned for his performance in Riverdance.
" Having the chance two work with Aimin Teng, who is, hands down, one of the most visionary artists in the history of dance is breathtaking, " says Joel Hanna. " The Lunar New Year better be ready, because the East and the West are going to create one spectacular baby of a show on February 9."
The Vancouver Spring Show will be hosted by Vancouver's very own, Lien Yeung from CBC Television and Gwen Elliot  (MuchMusic, Canadian Idol, Project Runway, Miss World Canada). Other performers will include equal amounts of Western and Asian talents: Sons of Granville, Wang Yu Yie, Will Blunderfield, Silu Xi ,Karen Flamenco, Lucy Xu and The Faculty.
