Your 'health' phone could save your life

Imagine the ability to monitor, track and record personal health information from home without having to visit the hospital.
LionsGate Technologies, Inc. in Vancouver (LGTmedical) recently announced that its patented Kenek O2™ has been cleared by Health Canada.
The “doctor-in-the-pocket” technology consists of an app and a sensor, enabling people to monitor their blood oxygen level and heart rate independently.
The company believes the availability of accurate and immediate physical health has the potential to save thousands of lives around the world by serving as an early-warning system for more serious health problems.
The approval paves the way for consumer sales of the pulse oximeters, which will neatly organize vital signs trends to share with a physician.
By integrating the software into smartphone, it replaces bulky and expensive medical device hardware.
Instead, the Kenek O2 pulse oximeter uses a clinical-grade fingertip sensor that shines a light through tissue to precisely measure the pulse rate and blood oxygen levels.
The sensor can be connected to any iOS-compatible mobile device and transferred directly by an app that displays the easy-to-read vital signs data on the smartphone or tablet.
It can record up to 60 minutes of continuous data, create user profiles to categorize results, easily export information for advanced analysis and explore saved results with interactive charts and trends.

The Kenek O2 pulse oximeter is available for sale in Canada without a prescription for $80. More information is available at www.lgtmedical.com/keneko2. The free Kenek O2 app is available for select iOS and Android mobile devices.
