Vancouver cadet receives top honour for international competition

Vanessa Ho, part of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet National Rifle Team (RCAC NRT), scored 4 Highest Possible Score, earning the Bronze Highest Possible Score Cross at the Imperial Meeting in Bisley, England. This is the largest shooting festival in the nation that attracts top international marksman.
“Joining cadets was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made – learning new things, seeing new places, meeting new friends… I’m so glad my family friends convinced me to join.”
As part of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet National Rifle Team, Vanessa’s score in this competition counted towards the Highest Possible Score award, an award only given to those who earned perfect scores.
“Competing at an international level for shooting, meeting amazing people from all over the country and the world, and eating FatBoy ice creams was definitely the highlight of my trip.”
The grade 12 Little Flower Academy student competed at Bisley, England. When she returned to Ottawa, she also competed in the Ontario Rifle Association (ORA) matches and the National Cadet Full-bore Championship (NCFC).
The cadet program is a free program designed to develop strong citizenship and leadership qualities for youth between the ages of 12-18. The program also aims to promote physical fitness, and stimulate interest in the activities of the Canadian Armed Forces.
