The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant: dining on Granville Island

By Diana (Foodology),

The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant is best known for their selection of fresh Oceanwise seafood, which is sustainable and ethically caught.
Raw Oysters came with a vinaigrette sauce, horseradish, hot sauce and lemons.
Ahi Poke has scallions, sesame seeds, sesame oil, soy, and a garlic chili sauce. This dish had too much sesame oil and soy sauce.
Seafood Croquette comes with a chili lime aoili sauce.
Wok Squid has garlic, chilis, onions, cilantro and ginger. It could have used a bit more chili.
California Roll and Special Scallop Roll both had very fresh ingredients.
Sandbar Tower, which is jumbo prawns, oysters, clams, mussels, crab, lobster, with housemade cocktail sauce, is a real west coast feast.
Dragonboat Platter has bbq ribs, fried oysters, spicy green beans, and wok squid.
We loved the range of desserts.
Overall, the food was delicious and fresh. The dishes with Asian influences fell flat and needed more refinement. My favourite part was the seafood tower and the Belgian chocolate pudding.
