Local church helps Fort McMurray evacuees

When the news broke out that Fort McMurray had wildfires, Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V Manalo organized an outreach event for the evacuees.
Meanwhile, members of the church in the three Edmonton congregations started gathering personal items and relief goods to welcome and accommodate as many as they could. Since May 4, donations of clothes, blankets, shoes, and especially food hasn’t stopped .
In Fort McMurray with 88,000 residents were evacuated. Some 60 plus members of the Church travelled to Edmonton to find refuge. More than 200 from the Edmonton Region (totaling to close to 1500 members) volunteered by helping in re-packing the relief goods. Goods included food, and toiletries. The response of the donation centers were overwhelming.
Funds used for these donations come from the church members.
