Winning the Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant 2016 was Maria Rincon. Prena Wang captured first runner up and Sherry Xue was second runner up at the Vancouver Convention Centre December 8.

Richmond Hospital Foundation was named the beneficiary of this year’s pageant’s dinner. The gala raised $1.6 million. Funds will go towards the new replacement patient care tower.

MCs were artiste Vinci Wong and program host Fred Liu. They sang and danced with Project Boyz Power.

Contestants competed in a cheonsam event instead of wearing the traditional swimwear. In the talent show, Prenda Wang played the Chinese zither while performing a ballet dance. Irene Cheng performed a Bollywood dance. Cecelia Pan performed Korean pop dance. Maria Rincon performed a rap and did hip hop dance. Maggie Yu sang a rhythmic and fun song. Venessa Li peformed a ribbon dance. Sherry Xue sang a Broadway musical number. Katria Shi performed a Latin dance. Phoebe Kut did a modern ribbon dance. Lily Wong performed to the Taiko Japanese drum.

The 10 contestants performed a K-pop dance with Jeffrey and Chris from Project Boyz Power. Special guest performer Mak Cheung Ching performed.

Judges included actress Ms. Lynn Hsieh from Hong Kong and TV star Mr. Patrick Poon, table tennis Paralympian Ms. Stephanie Chan, notable artist Mr. Aixinjueluo Yu Ting, and Miss Chinese Vancouver 2013 Champion and Miss Chinese International Pageant 2014 1st Runner-Up Ms. Cindy Zhon
