The flight from Seoul, Korea, to Vancouver, B.C., is long, arduous and expensive. But imagine what it would be like if you were eight- months pregnant. Well, for a small group of South Korean women who are signing on to make the trip across the Pacific in that condition, they say it's worth it if they can give birth in Canada.
They call it having a "born-in-Canada" baby and there are now tour guides to help them make it happen. Fabian Dawson is a news editor at The Province in Vancouver, and he's helped research a story published in the Asian Pacific Post about the phenomena of these so-called "birth tours." We reached Mr. Dawson at his home in Vancouver. |
