Veer Zaar: Bollywood's top earner
Amid a disappointing year for Bollywood, some films raked in heaps with love stories, comedies and action thrillers leading the charge. The top 10 Bollywood films of 2004 in terms of gross total earnings according to PricewaterhouseCoopers were:

  1. Veer Zaar (A love story): 560 million rupees (C$16.2million)
  2. Main Hoon Naa (I Am There): 490 million rupees (C$14.2million)
  3. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (Will You Marry Me): 430 million rupees (C$12.4million)
  4. Dhoom (Explosion): 410 million rupees (C$11.8million)
  5. Khakee (Action thriller): 390 million rupees (C$11.2million)
  6. Lakshya (Goal):340 million rupees (C$9.8million)
  7. Hulchul (Commotion): 290 million rupees (C$8.3million)
  8. Masti (Mischief): 280 million rupees (C$8million)
  9. Hum Tum (You And Me): 250 million rupees (C$7.2million) and
  10. Aitraaz (Objection): 240 million rupees (C$6.9million).
