COTR: Valuable donation
Thu, August 25 2005
The College of the Rockies has received over $96,000 worth of electrical equipment for its new Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical program from Eecol Electric. Instructor Ian Goring reported, "It was brought to my attention that they (Eecol) had some items in storage and they might be willing to donate them to the College. I was put in contact with Clyde Marcus from Calgary and arranged to view them. I readily saw the value of these items to the Electrical program. "Some of the items are numerous programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, fault test modules, automation displays, load break switches, and other industrial electronic equipment," Goring continued. "The appraised value of the entire lot is in excess of $96,000." Dean of Instruction Heather Schneider added, "The College of the Rockies is grateful for Eecol Electric's continued support of our Electrical program and we are very pleased with the quality and value of this donation."
