Najib-RazakMalaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has resigned, paving the way for his deputy Najib Razak to become the country's new premier. Abdullah faced mounting pressure to step down after he led the ruling National Front coalition to embarrassing defeats in the March 2008 general elections. The National Front suffered unprecedented losses to the three-party opposition. Najib, 55, has pledged to bring reforms to the party with a new set of leaders.
