A team of Metro Vancouver Cricket League (MVCL) lady cricketers met their Island counterparts in Victoria last week at Beacon Hill Park on a perfect cricketing day.

The national ladies coach from Toronto attended and coached both teams before and after the game. He stressed the need for fitness and provided suggestions for improvement.

Team Lenore won the toss and decided to bat, scoring 104 for 5 with great performances by Helena (30) and Izzy (20). Marie had two quick wickets for 26 runs.

Team Lenore consisted of Lenore (C), Helene, Fioha, Estelle, Ritika, Izzy, Seema, Prerma., and Sarah.

Team Jo won the match by scoring 105 for two wickets, with an outstanding contribution of 50 n.o. by captain Jo. Helene took one wicket for 26 runs. Team Jo was made up of Jo (C), Maree, Jenny, Anne, Monika, Meara, Bhumika, Lila and Shakila.
