Paula from Graphic Design

A study of design fundamentals is completed in the first year together with studio lecture courses in computer software, art and design for multi-disciplinarian studio design projects including advertising and product promotion. The ability to render proficiently, to communicate the concept and spirit of the design solution are emphasized and applied to complete presentations of major studio projects.


Built on a strong foundation of basic design knowledge students learn to develop alternative design solutions, be open to new ideas, concepts and meet design criteria. Our instructors are working professionals in all design and computer fields. Students are exposed to a high level of design and technical expertise from instructors who share their enthusiasm and wealth of experience with the students.

1st Year Certificate

A foundation year to explore the fundamentals of design, first year develops important manual skills in drafting and presentation. The experience is very much "hands-on", with practical opportunities available to apply knowledge and skills learned about graphics, materials, layout and colour to a variety of small and medium sized projects. Emphasis is placed on the concept of studio learning in a multi-disciplinarian environment to expose the student to a variety of design solution opportunities.

2nd Year Diploma

In their Second year students continue their studies in graphic design, with more intense computer usage. Taught by a variety of practicing designers, this year of studies also includes major studio projects in the areas of web, animation and commercial design. Conceptual thinking, imagination, technical expertise in producing designs and the practical skills in problem solving are emphasized.

The focus of the Graphic Design program is to develop design solutions through gaining knowledge and abilities in program analysis, research, ocncept development and communication. The ability to render proficeintly, to communicate the concept and spirit of the design solution are emphasized and applied to complete presentations of mafor studio projects.
