Day 1: Arrive Kuala Lumpur
Arrive in Kuala Lumpur this evening. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure. SHANGRI LA KUALA LUMPUR
Day 2: Kuala Lumpur / Kuching
Your morning tour of Kuala Lumpur includes highlights of the Lake Gardens, the National Museum displaying arts and crafts of Malaysia Kings Palace & KL Tower for a panoramic view of the city. Evening transfer to the airport for your flight to Kuching, capital of the state of Sarawak. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your Hotel. HILTON KUCHING (B)

Day 3: Kuching / Lemanak River – Batang Ai
A 140 miles car/coach journey takes you through lush green countryside dotted with padi fields, pepper gardens and rubber plantations, and flanked by rugged jungle-clad mountains. Along the way, stop off at the Serian farmer’s market, visit a pepper garden and view carnivorous pitcher plants. Stop for lunch at a roadside bazaar deep in Iban country. Arrive at Lemanak jetty mid-afternoon for a longboat ride up the Lemanak River, passing through typical Borneo countryside with an ancient longhouse tucked behind almost every bend in the river. Arrive at either Serubah or Nanga Kesit Longhouse and visit the “entire village under one roof.” Tour the longhouse and enjoy a demonstration of blowpipe shooting. Return down river for transfer to Batang Ai jetty. After a 20 minutes boat ride across the 24sq km Batang Ai Hydro Lake, arrive at the luxurious Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort. Day 4: Batang Ai - Kuching
Breakfast at the resort, followed by a short nature walk with the resort’s residence naturalist. Depart for Kuching via the same route. Lunch is served en route. Upon arrival into Kuching, check into your hotel. Afternoon enjoy the City tour, perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital. Your tour includes visit to Kuching’s Chinatown, the Cat Statue (Kuching means “Cat” in Malay), the colorful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple, the Civic Centre Viewing Platform and the world famous Sarawak Museum. Across river, visit either the unique Cat Museum or Fort Margherita, passing the magnificent State Mosque and the Astana, the former residence of the White Rajahs. Return via the golden-domed City Mosque and proceed on foot through Old Kuching, visiting the colorful Central Markets and squeezing through narrow alleyways crammed with spice dealers and textile shops. Pass by the heritage buildings of the White Rajah era, the Pavilion, the Square Tower, the CourtHouse, the Charles Brooke Monument and the Post Office. HILTON KUCHING (B)

Day 5: Kuching / Home
Morning transfer to the Kuching airport for flight back home.
