Rolls-Royce Phantom
The Rolls-Royce, once the pride of maharajas, is returning to Indian roads after nearly five decades with the firm's announcement that its latest Phantom model will be launched here. India's growing economic affluence has created a market for luxury cars like the Phantom which carries a price tag of US$800,000 (C$997,500) dollars, said Colin Kelly, the firm's regional director. The BMW Group which owns the Rolls-Royce brand will sell the Phantom through domestic car dealer Navneet Motors.

"We are happy to come back to India, a country with which we had deep relations in the last century," Kelly told reporters recently at the launch of the Phantom in Bombay.

"India is going through massive economic growth and we are happy to bring the Phantom at this time as Indians know how to appreciate quality," he said.
