Krabi, Thailand’s peaceful paradise
Mon, June 11 2007
Scattered across the province are hundred-meter-high stones, four national sea parks as well as two big islands - the world-famous Phi Phi Islands and Koh Kai (also known as Chicken Island). Resorts in the area designated as national parks are in harmony with nature and boast spectacular scenery. Lush mangrove forests, countless caves, sandy beaches and thousand different kinds of tropical fish are among just a few natural attractions of Krabi that claims to be one of the most attractive destinations in southern Thailand. Not long ago, Krabi had only been frequented by those looking for the ideal spot for snorkeling, diving and sea fishing but now travelers from all over the world come to enjoy sunbathing on an exotic beach under limestone cliffs. It has two wonderful beaches: Ao Nang and Hat Rai Le. You can swim in the ocean or enjoy water activities such as banana boat rides, canoeing and snorkeling. Better yet, take part in rock climbing, which also is a popular sport here. Up on the top of the rock mountain, you can have fabulous experience of swimming in a 50 meter wide lake. When to go Getaway Koh Lanta actually consists of two islands: Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Lanta Yai, but Yai is the bigger island and is more well-known among travelers. Soft sand and magnificent sunsets are the major draw of Koh Lanta, making it the “it” destination for families and backpackers alike following Phi Phi Islands. What to eat |
