Miss Chinese Vancouver returns for 31st annual pageant

The Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant has entered its 31st year, continuing its legacy as one of the most celebrated and anticipated annual events in the Canadian Chinese community.

Over the decades, the pageant has nurtured countless outstanding young women who embody both beauty and intellect, providing them with a platform to showcase their talent. It also serves as an important bridge for cultural exchange and community harmony.

This year’s theme, “A Nascent Voyage, I’m the Moment,” symbolizes the contestants’ courage to embark on a new journey and write a new chapter in their lives.

The MCVP 2025 Press Conference was held recently with veteran host Mary Lo as emcee. The event was streamed live on Fairchild TV’s YouTube channel, allowing global audiences to share in the excitement and witness the grace, intelligence, and youthful energy of this year’s contestants.

The eight finalists appeared on stage in elegant all-white attire.

#1 Angela Zhou, fluent in four languages, may be petite but wins hearts with her love for food and friendly personality.

#2 Joanna Fu, the youngest contestant, is pursuing a double major in Biology and Chemistry while working as a lifeguard.

#3 Sophia Yin, originally from Sichuan, is passionate about Chinese culture. Fluent in Cantonese, she is also skilled in dance and calligraphy.

#4 Nicole Chan has fulfilled her childhood dreams of becoming both a flight attendant and a pageant contestant.

#5 Charlene Bi, a tall and artistic student, describes herself as a blank canvas ready to find her purpose through the MCVP journey.

#6 Silvana Huang, though from a science background, has a strong passion for creative arts, striking a balance between logic and emotion.

#7 Athena Lee, a fitness coach and early childhood educator, is energetic and fearless, always challenging herself.

#8 Tiffany Chan, who underwent major surgery and personal hardships in her childhood, found inspiration in her experiences to study nursing, hoping to spread love and hope to others.

The eight contestants are now fully prepared to face the upcoming challenges and shine brilliantly on stage, promising audiences an unforgettable finale filled with elegance, confidence, and inspiration.

The Grand Final will take place on November 27 at the River Rock Show Theatre and will be broadcast on Fairchild TV 1 on November 30 at 9 PM.
