Mina believes in the value of hard work and natural beauty. She was born and raised in Port Alberni, BC and is currently a sociology student at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. As a first generation Indo-Canadian, family and heritage have always been important to her.
Mina recognizes that the opportunities available to young women in Canada are unique in the world and wants to lead by example to promote a positive self-image and the value of a healthy lifestyle. Her desire to connect with other cultures led her to western Africa where she taught English and volunteered in an orphanage for six months.
She has also modelled in Mumbai and attended one of the most prestigious acting schools in India. In 2013, she competed at the Miss Asia Pacific World pageant in Seoul, Korea.
In her spare time, Mina loves to hike, run and swim. She is a true Vancouverite, loving yoga and cheering for the Vancouver Canucks. She also has a passion for baking and her dream job is to have her own cooking show recorded in front of a live audience.
