Vancouver Island weekend getaway

On May 31, June 28 andNovember 22,the Earth and Moon align to give some of the year’s lowest tides, uncovering a variety of edible treasures. For a unique, local getaway, consider heading to Vancouver Island for a culinary expedition to experience these salty-sweet ocean delicacies. 
Brian Kingzett, Manager of the Vancouver Island University Deep Bay Marine Field Station, will lead small groups on a foraging excursion, sampling Pacific Oysters and Manila Clams, direct from their shells on the university’ shellfish research farm.
