Narima Dela Cruz for Surrey City Council

Community leader and realtor Narima Dela Cruz declared on June 8 that she will run for Surrey Council in the upcoming municipal election.
“I have always been passionate about giving back to our communities” said Narima, “and this is a value I have worked hard to instill in my children and impart on my fellow volunteers. My years of experience as a community organizer and volunteer have prepared me to take on the responsibility of sitting on Surrey City Council.”
The announcement came during a break at the 6th Annual Philippine Independence Day Celebration organized by the Surrey Philippine Independence Day Society (SPIDS). Narima founded SPIDS six years ago, and since then has been actively organizing its community events.
Narima is also a parent advocate at her children's public schools and believes in investing in our children, our teachers, and our schools. “Raising healthy children also requires healthy communities. My priority on Surrey Council would be helping Surrey become a city where working families thrive.”
Narima works as a Realtor, and in 2012 she was honoured with the 2012 Realtor’s Care Award from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. In the same year she won a Top 25 Canadian.
