Taking home the crown and most of the awards was Alexa Grant. She won the Best in Beauty and Poise, Most Photogenic, Best in Question and Answer, Best in Evening Gown, Most charity and Ambassador of Goodwill prizes. Solenn Heussaff presented Grant with the crown.

The Grade 11 student looks forward to continuing to help those less fortunate and to advocate for charity.

“I find that there is no great joy than the joy that comes from service and giving yourself for others,” she said.

The pageant was held during the Filipino Heritage month. The Philippine Canadian Charitable Organization (PCCF) launched the Pinoy Fiesta Celebration June 16 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Filipino Fiesta encourages and engages both Filipinos and non-Filipinos to the Philippine culture through a cultural presentation, charitable competition, and exhibition.
