Restaurant Review: Pink Elephant Thai

The restaurant was fairly busy, but we were seated pretty quickly. They have an affordable lunch from Monday to Friday from 11 am – 3 pm. Their mini-set meals come with a veggie spring roll, green salad, and steamed Thai jasmine rice.

We ordered the Pad Thai (made with tamarind sauce) and the Thai Matsaman Curry.

The Pad Thai was a good portion for lunch. Interestingly, the Pad Thai was served with the bean sprouts, green onion, and peanuts on the side of the tossed noodles (although there were bean sprouts and peanuts mixed in the noodles as well). The noodles were a bit on the overcooked side- they were chewy. The flavour was ok.

The Curry wasn’t so bad – we ordered it with beef and it was a good portion. Flavour was fine, but I wish the Curry was a bit thicker. The cashews added a nice crunch, but the potatoes were overcooked as well.

For the amount we paid, it’s not a bad meal but not the best Thai food I’ve had.
