Amy Tso Crowned Miss Chinese Vancouver 2020

Amy Tso took top prize and Luk Fook Jewellery Miss Photogenic award at the Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant 2020. The biotechnology major who earned her Bachelor degree from Wellesley and Master degree from Columbia, showcased her boxing skills during the competition. She used her DJing talents to pay tribute to frontline healthcare workers with an online fundraising campaign for a local hospital. 
First runner up was Julianne Nieh. Second runner-up was Vicky Wu. Beauty Court Sparkling New Award went to Ariel Cao. 3 Fish Healthy Charm Award was given to Kitty Yao.
This year, contestants raised money to go towards frontline healthcare workers who work through this COVID-19 pandemic. Vicky Wu and Julianne Nieh designed homemade gifts while Ariel Cao and Kitty Yao encouraged people to donate towards needed supplies. Beryl Liu and Rida Wang helped animals and the poor. Yuki Wei and Amy Tso launched a fundraising event through social media platforms. The contestants had two months to raise as much money as they could.
“MCVP’s Got Talent” show! Demonstrated the contestants’ talents in: singing and playing instruments, rapping, floral arrangement, sword dance, kickboxing, jazz dance, ballet, Chinese dance, and tap dance, a wonderful recital of piano, guitar, violin, pipa, zhongruan, guzheng, and clarinet.
